(9x12 inches)
I’m calling this project, "Vogue" because this is supposed to be a Vogue magazine cover. I chose to create this specific work because Vogue is a huge deal world wide and only extremely famous individuals who maintain a certain image are apart of it, especially the ones on the cover. When I was creating this I had simplicity of design and the message in mind.
For materials, I used marker and graphite. I used marker because I wanted simple and solid coloring. I used a variety of techniques and methods including: blind contour. While creating this work, I paid close attention to having a simple piece with a simple message by highlighting the important components with color. I wanted my artwork to look abstract and I did that by using blind contour. To add interest to my composition, I used used few colors only to highlight certain markings.
I like the way the style of my artwork looks and I am proud of the idea. However, I struggled with knowing if people would understand the message. If I created another work like this I may add clothing to the person. My work shows that I learned how to use art already made and make a message about it.
