sgraffito clay

artist statement

The project that we did was the sgraffito clay tile.

The subject of my creation is a pair of ski's. The setting of my creation is against the Colorado flag. The steps I went through in creating this project were making a design plan, painting the clay and scratching the design into the clay. The materials used when I made this project were clay and paint.

At first my project was going to be a landscape but it evolved and ended up being a pair of skis.

This project relates to me because I like skiing in Colorado. If I were to do this project again I would scratch my design more carefully.
