Candy Still Life

artist statement

The project that we did was the candy still life. The goal was to create a display of candy that is shaded.

The subject of my creation is a kit Kat and whoppers. I chose to make this specifically because I thought that this would look good with how I composed my candy. The steps I went through in creating this project were drawing in the candy, coloring in the candy, adding shadows and highlights and lastly I watercolor painted the background. The materials used when I made this project were colored pencil, graphite and watercolor.

Some techniques I use while making my art were crosshatching and outlining you can see it on my Kit Kat. At first my project was going to be of skittles but it evolved and ended up a drawing of a Kit Kat.

If I were to do this project again I would add more pieces of candy instead of only having two kinds.
