Artist Statement

The project that we did was an artist inspired drawing. The goal was to draw an inspired image that was inspired by two artists.

The subject of my creation was a battle scene with a sunset. I chose to make this specifically because my artists were Jacques Louis David and Claude Monet. The steps I went through in creating this project were drawing in colored pencil and then adding oil pastel on top. The materials used when I made this project were colored pencil and oil pastel. I chose to compose my art this way because I wanted it to look inspired by both of the artists.

Some techniques I used while making my art were crosshatching. At first my project was going to be at the ocean but it evolved and ended up in a field.
