Go through ough reading slideshow
Introduce the 'ough' phonogram and practise the six sounds.
Write a selection of ‘ough’ words on the board. Students read them. Mark which 'ough' sound by using fingers to count.
If too tricky for year 1's, they can complete 'cut and stick'.
