Who are the main characters, and what do they do in the story?
Where and when does the story take place?
What is the main problem in the story?
How is the problem solved?

Rotations:
1. Teacher Conference Group- Use either magazine or book
2. Comprehension - Watch this clip to revise or introduce Somebody Wanted But So Then
Somebody Wanted But So Then - create group anchor chart
“Somebody Wanted But So Then” is an excellent summarizing strategy for stories.
Somebody: Who is the story about?
Wanted: What does the main character want?
But: Identify a problem that the main character encountered.
So: How does the main character solve the problem?
Then: Tell how the story ends.
