What are Tiered words?
Explain and explore Tier1, 2, 3 words and explain that we are going to develop our use of Tier 2 words.
Let's look at two Tier 1 words - Bad & Said
- Students brainstorm some alternative words they could use instead.
Teacher to make class anchor chart displaying the words.

On their laptops, students will have 15 mins to write a short narrative and they can see how many of the Tier 2 words we have listed that they can use.
We will all use a Photo prompt.

Students read their stories to a friend.
Students nominate a friend that they believe did a good job.
