L.I: Students write their Recount focusing on 'Painting Word Pictures & Show! Don't Tell.'
Many of us are visual creatures. When we read, we create pictures in our minds to help us believe and remember. Painting a word picture when you write will help engage and convince your reader. This is true for any text type.
Often Recounts focus on the 'facts' and not the story for the reader... Which one would you rather read?
For dinner we had Paella with prawns from LeBaobab.
We ate sizzling barbecued prawns straight from the hotplate, paella tossed steaming and spicy from an enormous pan, and spicy Moroccan couscous from a Senegalese caterer called Le Baobab.
