An open sore that is infectious, and which comes in contact with food, can also be a source of transmission for harmful microorganisms. If you have an open sore that is infected, you are not permitted to work with food. If a non-infectious sore is present, cover the sore with a Band-Aid, and place a finger-cot overtop to prevent the Band-Aid from contaminating or falling off into the food. Place a glove on over the finger cot to cover the hand, and replace as per the guidelines mentioned earlier for wearing gloves. Above all - all handwashing rules still apply!
