Glove Use
Glove Use
Using gloves is NOT a substitute for handwashing! Wearing gloves has a higher likelihood of transmitting disease when working with food, than working with bare hands. On the contrary to policies set by various food establishments, glove use while working with food, is generally NOT required, advised, or enforced by public health officials. If they are required by your employer, it is best to learn to use them correctly, to minimize possible hazards.
Plastic or latex – that is the question! Once the type of glove has been selected, use gloves in an appropriate manner to prevent cross-contamination. Keep going to see how it's done.
