World War I

Dates: 12/07 (B) & 12/08 (A)

Goal/Learning Objective: explore the evolution of World War I AND take more effective, engaged notes.

• 1. Grab a text book, leave it closed.

  2. Take out your notes from last class (if you didn't take any I've attached a student sample). Take 2 minutes to review your notes (this is timed and individual - no talking).

  3. Answer the first 10 questions of the attached worksheet to the best of your ability using

     1. your brain (no notes, no book, no talking)

     2. your notes (no book, no talking)

     3. your book (no talking)

     4. your teacher (let's discuss!)

  4. WWI Chunking - we will continue working on the worksheet together as a class (in which we will discuss specific strategies and learning outcomes. Students will need to complete the worksheet on their own at home before the next class (please, please, please do not copy the answers!!!!!)
