Focus: Presentation Planning

• • Students were given the handout for mapping out their presentations (https://docs.google.com/a/natomasunified.org/document/d/1O-mjDoP_p3RUi9Lm2X_4q1k84DsYRoDr5-nqPiylPN4/edit?usp=sharing)

  • Students will have the next several days to plan and prepare their presentations.

  • Things to aim for in a presentation:

    • all group members should share out equally

    • using your slides, interact with them and show us why you've created them the way you have

    • smooth transitions - practice your presentation so that all members are prepared

    • the group should clearly address the prompt

    • presentation should follow the flow of an essay, meaning it should have a hook, a clear thesis, a body, and a conclusion

    • engagement strategies

    • slides that enhance the presentation

  • Things to avoid in a presentation:

    • "We did globalization..."

    • "So....ya"

    • Putting images or words on slides that you will NOT use

    • excessive text in a slide

    • slides that distract from the presentation
