I know that many of you will soon be hitting the store for school supplies. My local Target was stocking up this morning! For the first week of school, students should come with a pen or pencil and paper. All teachers will send home a supplies list the first week of school and review their syllabus with students. I have been able to coordinate with the other Freshman English teacher to provide you with our supply list a bit early so that if you see a great sale, you can grab those supplies.
Required Materials
A composition notebook (Needed in Jan.)
A 1 ½ or 2 inch binder
At least 5 binder tab dividers:
(1) Warm Ups
(2) Vocabulary
(3) Handouts/Worksheets
(4) Class Notes
(5) My Growth (Quizzes, Products, Reflections, etc.)
College-ruled binder paper
At least two pencils and erasers
At least two (of each) black, blue, and red ink pens
4 different colored highlighters
A pad of 3x3 sticky notes
A pack of 3x5 ruled index cards
Access to Google Docs and the internet
Academic planner (or a way to track homework & product due dates)
Optional:
ruler
hole puncher
mini stapler & staples
clear tape
correction tape
art supplies (posters, markers)
Again, it is not expected that your student has all of these items right away! Feel free to wait until you get all of the teachers’ supply lists to shop.
Finally, if you are unable to purchase materials, please let me know. I have some extras!
