Friday FUN Time - Round 1
You have been placed into random groups with the goal of leading the class in an activity that:
Gets us talking (particularly to those we don’t normally talk to)
Has us moving
Makes us think
Inspires FUN
You must lead us in this activity on a Friday before our Fall Break (we will aim to run 2 activities a day). Your activity should be 6 - 8 minutes from beginning to end.
To plan your activity, your group may have access to one chromebook and you are encouraged to search for team building or ice breaker activities that best fit the requirements listed above.
You will have 2 Fridays to plan and then we will start running our activities.
Each group must present Mrs. Hembree with a formal “Lesson Plan” for your activity (see the back of this sheet). You may use your chromebook to create this and share with her before your assigned Friday.
As a group you must:
Work together, everyone must be involved in the planning and running of your activity. Pay attention to those whose voices are loud and those whose voices aren’t often heard - learn to listen and learn to communicate better.
Be positive and solution oriented. Have fun with this activity and use it as an opportunity to get to know one another a little better.

LESSON PLAN TEMPLATE
Title: The Wild, Wild Western Ms. Jardine
Concept / Topic To Teach: Line Dancing
General Goal(s): To get everyone to learn the moves to ONE line dance.
What it tells us about you/Why you chose it:
I have always been very intrigued by the history of the American West, maybe because I’m a native Californian! ☺ The culture of the cowboy is so isolated and tough that I think they are very interesting to learn about and read about. In fact, the first large novel I read MY freshmen year of high school was called Lonesome Dove, a western! Through this love of all things western I’ve also developed an appreciation for country music because I think it helps tell the tale of the cowboy. YEE-HAW! My sister and I started line dancing when we were in 6th grade and have continued to do it together ever since!
Required Materials:
Speakers for computer
Garth Brooks CD
Step-By-Step Procedures:
Move the Desks to make room for the dancing
Introduce why I love the American West
Connect my studying the west to the custom of line dancing and country music.
