Dates: 11/30 (A) & 12/01 (B)
Students began with a group quiz (this quiz was verbal and students just needed to decide how well they knew and understood the vocabulary listed) - see attached.
Then groups will take turns presenting to one another with the following expectations:
Presenters will:
explain things
use examples
be repetitive
not assume vocabulary is understood
support each other
quiz their audience for "big picture" understanding
Learners will:
take notes
ask questions (don't be afraid to interrupt)
seek to understand, not just to "pay attention"
Students will be given a ONE QUESTION quiz at the beginning of the next class period in which they are able to use their notes from these presentations AND:
HW: Read Ch.13.1 and take notes (these notes are for YOU and will not be collected). All notes are fair game on the quiz, but students should expect to back up their answer with evidence from their notes.
