Students should begin by taking out what they worked on last class (the one pager on Imperialism in India and/or the writing prompts for Ch.11.4). On their work they should add a box somewhere (this box should be obvious) titled REFLECTION. In this box, they should summarize in a few sentences what feedback they would give themselves on this assignment. In essence, what did they learn by doing this? Their reflections may be content based or skill based, but ideally they will have learned something from both categories.
Grab a book and open to Ch.12.1: China Resists Outside Influence. Students will spend the remainder of the period completing the attached worksheet while reading this section. Before beginning we analyzed the worksheet as a class and discussed how to best use the worksheet for comprehension and learning instead of just to complete it.
I have attached my notes on this worksheet as well, which we will go over in class next period.
