Upon our return from break students were reminded of:
cell phone use in the classroom is unacceptable
if you are tardy to class, you revoke your right to use the restroom during class
read directions carefully or your grade will be impacted
this unit will be a BIG one (10 weeks) and there will be no product until the week of mid terms in March.
The product will be presentation based as students participate in creating and explaining an interactive timeline about the years 1930 - 1960 in the United States (this will take us through WWII, the Cold War, and the 1950s). Students will be presented information on this product next week and will be tasked with working on their individual contribution progressively over the next 2 months.
Part of their presentation will be connecting their timeline event with current events in the world today, so all students are expected to begin following the news if they are not already.
For Week 1, we will be reviewing and revisiting our analysis skills in order to make predictions about what's coming. HERE is the assignment students are completing.
For the presentation aspect of this assignment, students have been informed that presentations must include:
an engaging introduction
purpose of presentation
predictions and explanations
useful visual(s)
all members' voices
transitions between ideas
purposeful conclusion
