Dates: 09/19 (A) & 09/20 (B)
Learning Objectives:
Students will practice taking notes with a purpose (rather than just taking notes because they are told to).
Students will explore the ways in which industrialization spreads to other countries in Europe as well as the United States
Agenda:
Industrialization Spreads - 20 Questions (see attached)
Students will be given 20 questions to answer while reading Ch. 9.3. While they are being asked to answer questions, they should be formatting these answers as notes. Students will be graded on the organization of these notes (do the notes make sense to the reader, do they follow a certain order, is it easy to follow?); that answers are correct and complete; and that answers demonstrate individual learning (bottom line, if students merely copy from the textbook they will not pass this assignment. They should make notes purposeful for them, using their own words and their own strategies).
Answer Key (see attached)
Students will be given an answer key to these 20 questions so that they might add to their notes.
Students will be asked to turn in their completed notes at the end of the period. However, they do have the choice to take them home and complete them by the next class period.
