All Salesforce users at the David Eccles School of Business are subject to the following policies:
If an employee requires Salesforce access to fulfill the duties of their position, their supervisor (or Salesforce Program Liaison) must submit a New User Salesforce Case on their behalf.
The Eccles Salesforce Team will add the new employee to the Eccles School Salesforce Training (Canvas course) on their first day. The team will create an account after the new employee completes the training and submits proof of FERPA Certification.
To ensure data security, a supervisor must submit a User Deactivation Salesforce Case when an employee leaves their position.
Because the Eccles School has a limited number of user licenses, the Eccles Salesforce Team will perform an audit twice per year. During the audit, the team will deactivate all Salesforce users who have not logged in for 6+ months.
If a deactivated user needs to regain access, their supervisor (or Salesforce Program Liaison) must submit a New User Salesforce Case.
SSO LOGIN
Navigate to Salesforce at https://eccles.my.salesforce.com/ and log in by clicking “University of Utah SSO”. If you have not already logged in with DUO, you will be asked to. If you encounter any issues please contact salesforce@eccles.utah.edu
The Eccles Salesforce Team will perform an audit twice per year. During the audit, the team will identify which public reports and dashboards have not been used in 1+ year(s). The team will give users 2 weeks to relocate the reports and dashboards that they would like to keep. Then, the team will delete any remaining reports and dashboards.
If a user needs access to a deleted report or dashboard, they will need to rebuild it. (For assistance from the Eccles Salesforce Team, the user can submit a Training Salesforce Case.)
Some Salesforce users are also Pardot users. Pardot information and policies are located on this page.
