Creating a new Official Transfer Institution
Petition Processor should enter this based upon the student-entry for Institution Name, City, and Country.
Use the Transfer Institution tab (ensure that Transfer Course Petitions is selected from the drop-down menu in the top right corner of Salesforce).
Select "New"
Choose "Record Type of new record": Domestic or International. Click "CONTINUE."
For Domestic entries:
The school should be regionally accredited. If there is a doubt, call admissions and ask if the U accepts credit from the school: if so, the Eccles School will be able to evaluate it. Check the Transfer Guide for limited exceptions such as the University of Phoenix.
Enter in the Transfer Institution Name, Institution City, Institution State.
Click "SAVE."
For International entries:
Enter the Transfer Institution Name, Institution City, Institution Country.
Note: If a student submits a petition for an international school that has not been vetted or evaluated before, the UAS Coordinator can verify the validity of the school 2 ways:
Contact the International Admissions Office and ask if they typically accept credit from there.
Search the WHED database for International Accreditation. If a school is listed on this site, credit will be accepted into the University of Utah.
Verify with International Admissions Office if questions arise.
Click "SAVE."
