It is ALWAYS better to use the full registration form because we are able to capture more information, but in some cases it may be appropriate to use this shorter form.
Here are some cases where you might use the quick form:
When someone registers for a certificate and we don't want to make them register for each session individually. (i.e. They have registered once and we captured their information. Now we just need to add them to the right classes.)
The registration form is broken (If a user says the registration form isn't working for them it is best practice to ask them what browser they are using and what they see when they get the error. Then attempt to register them over the phone using the regular registration form. If it still isn't working only then should you use the quick form.)
If we are working with upset customers and want to show the highest levels of customer service.
Here are some common cases where you probably shouldn't use the quick form:

Returning participants should be advised to complete the registration form. That way we will capture any changes to their personal information such as email, title, or company.
How to use the quick registration form:
Navigate to the form. You can find the form by clicking the "+" icon on your Salesforce tab menu and then selecting it from the list. You can also make it permanently available from your tab menu by clicking "Customize My Tabs" and moving it from the left box to the right with the arrows.
Fill out all the information you have. Fields with a red star * are required.
If their company is not available from the drop-down menu, select "Exec Ed Other"
The form will search against existing contacts. If one exists, it will give you an option to review the matching contact. Otherwise it will create a new contact.
Select the session they should be registered for.
The opportunity name will be automatically generated. Select the close date (registration date) which will usually be today, the matching product (pulls the price. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT), and edit any additional billing information.
On the next page you can enter a discount, if applicable
On the next page you can choose to send an invoice if needed.
On the next page you can choose to finish the registration or add another registration.
