Chargent is the platform we use to process credit card orders. A chargent order is created whenever someone registers for a class. It attaches to the opportunity and serves as an invoice. If the opportunity amount is updated, the chargent order will be updated too. See below for how to create a chargent order manually.
If a Chargent order already exists, find it and fill out the information in the "How to Create a Chargent Order" instructions.
If a Chargent order doesn't exist you will need to create one.
A transaction refers to every credit card charge associated with a specific invoice. The Chargent order will tell you the total amount due, but in theory someone could make multiple transactions on one Chargent order to pay off the invoice. Similarly, one transaction could be associated with multiple chargent orders if, say, a company wanted to make one large payment for several employees attending classes.
Navigate to the Charget Orders tab (click the + sign if it isn't already on your tabs at the top of Salesforce)
Select "New"
Fill out the information highlighted below
Click "Save."
On the next screen select "Charge." If it went through, a box will pop up that says "approved." If it says "declined" you may need to check the card name, number, expiration, zip, or security code. It may also be a card limit issue.
Attach the order to the opportunity. Copy the order number (starts with ORD-) and paste it in the "Chargent Order" section on the related opportunity.
