Content on some pages such as the Undergraduate Advising Services Appointment Scheduling page (https://eccles.secure.force.com/undergrad) or Business Career Services Appointment Scheduling (https://eccles.secure.force.com/BCS) can be edited by Salesforce users with the requisite permissions.
Often, a simple announcement is needed or on occasion, some communication of greater importance needs to be highlighted. To assure that these changes be made with immediacy, these edits may now be made by one with proper permissions.
A typical version of this page is shown below:
Most areas on this page are configurable. They are identified by number below. Please note: the fields numbered 1 and 6 below are optional and may not appear on your page. Read below how to show or hide these fields.
Each of the numbers represent a Salesforce field that can be edited just like any field on a Salesforce record.
The numbers on the image of the UAS Appointment Scheduling page (top) correspond to the highlighted fields on the record edit page (above).
Alert - Two fields make up the Alert: Alert Heading (1a) and Alert Content (1b)
Title 1 - The title for Content 1
Content 1 - text to appear below Title 1*
Title 2 - The title for Content 2
Content 2 - text to appear below Title 2*
Text Field 1 - this is an optional field for additional text.
Unassigned Message - text for the message if a student does not have an assigned advisor.
*Some typical boilerplate text for the Content 1 and Content 2 fields can be found at the bottom of this page.
The Alert is made up of two fields which are not highlighted in the screen grab above: Alert Type and Alert Visibility.
Alert Type is a picklist and has four choices which mainly indicates the color of the background and included text. Depending on the intent of the Alert message, an appropriate color may be selected:
Danger: Red
Warning: Amber
Info: Blue
Success: Green
Alert Visibility has two choices: Show and Hide.
Text Field 1 is a Rich Text field which allows the font, text size, indenting, alignment and more to be set. In addition, web links and images can be inserted.
In the image above, the Alert Type is set to 'Danger' and 'Show'. Text Field 1 (outlined in yellow above, Field 6 on the edit page) has a brief message with bold applied to 'TEXT'.
The image below shows the message displayed if a student does not have an advisor assigned. The contents and formatting of this message are also customizable by editing field 7: Unassigned Message. Since it too is a Rich Text field, the presentation of this content is highly configurable.
If the advisor's photo does not appear when one is assigned to the student, the advisor must upload a photo to their Salesforce account Profile. Follow the steps below to add or update a photo. This must be performed by the logged in user.
Navigate to the Profile Page by clicking on the icon in the upper right-hand corner of the Salesforce window (it may be an image of one of the Salesforce characters such as Astro, etc).

Once uploaded, be sure to check the "Show my photo on publicly accessible pages

When using the UAS Appointment Scheduling Salesforce app, if a student's contact record does not have the FERPA field checked, then some data from the Salesforce contact record will be dynamically passed to the Acuity Scheduling form using URL Parameters. The current url parameter mapping is listed below and more information about the URL Parameters can be found here: https://developers.acuityscheduling.com/docs/embedding#section-example-time
IMPORTANT: If any of the custom form fields are changed, you will need to contact your Salesforce Administrator so they can update the back-end processes.
