Logging into Pardot
Go to Pardot (https://pi.pardot.com/).
Click Log In with Salesforce.
Creating and updating a newsletter
Go to Marketing >>> Emails >>> New List Email.
Naming conventions: yyyymmdd_major
20191111_msba
For folder, go to BCS >>> BCS Career Newsletter >>> BCS Career Newsletters.
For campaign, select Corporate Outreach & BCS.
Click Save.
Select the template for your major/program and click Apply.
After editing content, click Save.
Before hitting send:
Click on the Text tab and click Sync From HTML. Click Save.
Formatting and uploading images
Google search for the logo.
Save logo to computer with the name of the company as the title.
Right click on the saved photo, then select Open with >>> Photos.
At the top-right corner, there is a button that says crop and edit. Use the button.
Click Save.
On Pardot, in the part of the newsletter where you want to place the photo, click Upload Photo.
Click Upload from Computer.
Resize the image to be 180 pixels for width.
Make sure to lock the ratio.
Copying and pasting text
If you copy and paste text from somewhere else:
Select the paragraph ONLY.
From the Format dropdown, choose Normal.
Sending a test newsletter
Click on the Testing tab and type your email in the Individual Emails box.
Click Send to Individual Emails.
Note: The test email will not include any merge fields, including Dynamic Content.
Previewing and sending a newsletter
Click the Preview tab. This will show you how the email will appear to recipients. You can select a prospect from the To dropdown to view any dynamic content (e.g. International Student Info).
When you’re ready to email the newsletter, click the Sending tab.
Under Lists (Send To), click Choose.
Select the Dynamic and Static lists associated with the major/program. They are named like this:

After selecting the appropriate lists, you should see the number of recipients on the right side of the screen. Double-check this to ensure everything is working.
Edit the Subject using the below naming conventions and then click Save. Note: these naming conventions only apply to the BCS newsletters - other mass emails sent using Pardot can use any subject name.

Sending the newsletter.
You can send it immediately by clicking Send Now, or
You can send it later by clicking Schedule.
Saving and accessing a newsletter draft
If you are editing a newsletter and would like to come back later to finalize/send it, you can save a draft of the email.
Follow all of the instructions above [How to update/send a newsletter] and ensure you’ve hit the Save button from the Editor.
Under Marketing >>> Emails >>> Drafts, you will find your drafts emails. Click on the draft email to resume editing.
