Our class collaborated with Lions Befrienders Senior Activity Centre for our JC1 SL Day project. With the support and participation of our classmates, we conducted 2 sessions (one morning session and one afternoon session) through Zoom with the elderly from Lions Befrienders and interacted with them via a series of activities that we have planned, ‘Guess the Place’, ‘Guess the Song Lyrics/Title’ and Bingo. The first two activities were related to the theme of National Day. For the morning session, we held it in school and for the afternoon session, everyone in the class joined in from home.

Overall, we had fun and learnt a lot during the sessions with the elderly people.

Initially, we thought that the elderly people would be slightly slower/unresponsive as it was through the Internet and they may not be used to it. We were also worried that we would have technical issues, causing us to waste time. However, during the Zoom sessions, they were actually rather enthusiastic and spontaneous, and the programs went rather smoothly. Everyone was really active and had an enjoyable time.
