Eco-friendy Goods and people's behavior
for SDGs
Satoko Yamamoto
Brainstorming and NotepadWhat problems are you aware of?
What is the problem for using Eco-friendly goods instead of chemical ones? This is a really wonderful question And I hope that you find the answer to it (Jonathan deHaan)
What are you curious about?
organic, non-chemical products.(notebooks,cosmetis, accessories)
people's behavior
what people realy want
reusable products.
Visiting “Tsutaya, 2nd street, Lush(kind of cosmetic shop), Musirushi-shouhin”.
Narrow down your (SDG-related) topic(s) or problems you are interested in.
Hypothesis or question
What do you know?
People don't try to use reusable things.
People think the cheapy things are good(friendly for them)I really think that you have found an interesting aspect in your research. I am also curious about why people don't try to use things or think that cheap things are good for them. I think that the more you talk to people and understand the reasons, the more you'll be able to do (Jonathan deHaan)
Mujirushi produces Eco-friendly, organic goods.
How did you become interested in this?
These days, people say we need to be friendly to the earth but, are they really care? What is the real eco-friendly? I'm just interested in that people's behavior. This is really wonderful (Jonathan deHaan)
What should you know about?
Using the plastic bags has been reduced or not in last 10 years (especialy pasted 3 years), what types of goods people try to use, how the prodctuions are rapped.
Question: _Does people tend to be eco-friendly with the earth?_
Hypothesis: _People don't know what is the real "eco-friendly", but 60% of them and companies try to reduce the usage of plastics. __ Yes I think that knowing what people know is a good first step (Jonathan deHaan)
How will you collect data to answer the question?
Things. (e.g., observe and notes, photos, audio, video, collect and tally, ???, ???, ???).
Photos and the notes.
Locations. (home, street, train, shops, school, job, city, books, documents, nature, media, internet, SNS, ???, ???, ???)
Shopping mall, street in the city, my work place(convinience store), Internet,
Describe your process, step by step. Be specific. This is wonderful (Jonathan deHaan)
Research the number of plastic used on the Internet.
Visiting shopping mall and see the products and people there.
How many people use their own bags for shopping, how many people buys plastic or paper bags, and what is the contradiction of the products.
Ask the customers "Do you need the plastic bags?". Then, count the number of people saying "yes".
Do a risk assessment. Are there any dangers involved in your data collection?
__NO.
Collect and record data
Research the number of plastic used on the Internet.

I like your data collection process. asking the customer and count how many people say yes to using the bag and collect it as data. this is quite smart and clever. good luck! (Anu)
Analyze data
Look at the Document Below.
Answer your question or hypothesis using your data. Present your answer clearly. Summarize and highlight important aspects. Why are your findings interesting?
Reflect. Do an evaluation of your process and data. (what problems did you realize from your data/analysis? What could/should you do better next time?)
Connect. How does this fieldwork connect to you and your future?

this community produces eco-friendly goods that we can contribute to SDGs with buying their products. They make eco-bags, tumblers made of wood, and so on. Great information (Jonathan deHaan)
