What did you do?
I like art and I wanted to do something with itthem.
私はアートが好きなので、それらを使ってなにかをしたいと思いました。
This time I decided to create an art poster connected to the SDGs.
今回はSDGsに結び付けたアートポスターを作成することにしました。
To get people more interested in the SDGs through this activity, I asked my friends to make and send illustrations and artwork related to the SDGs.
この活動を通してSDGsにより関心を持ってもらうため、友達にもSDGsに関連したイラストやアートを寄付してもらいました。
At first I thought of a poster that looked like the official logo of the SDGs, and the idea grew from there.
最初はSDGsの公式ロゴのようなポスターを考え、そこからアイデアを膨らませていきました。
There is a problem I faced while working on the poster. “What should I do with my catchphrase of the poster?”
ポスターを制作する中で直面した問題があります。「キャッチフレーズはどうしようか？」
I thought it should be something that would be easy to understand and memorable for everyone.
みんなに伝わりやすく、印象に残りやすいものがいいと考えました。
Then, deHaan sensei taught us 'sarcastic'. I searched for 'sarcastic' posters.
そこでディハーン先生に教えてもらったのが’sarcastic’です。私は’sarcastic’なポスターを探してみました。
I was very inspired by the 'sarcastic' posters, which dealt with a range of contemporary issues.
現代における様々な問題を取り扱った’sarcastic’なポスターがあり、私はとてもインスピレーションを受けました。

What were the outcomes?
There are many activities that seem to be SDGs activities at first glance, but are actually only in name and do not actually solve anything.
一見SDGsの活動に見えるものでも、実は名ばかりで実際は何の解決にもなっていないようなものが多くあります。
I made this art poster with the hope that people will think about what we really need to do.
私は本当に私たちがするべきことは何なのかを考えてほしいという思いを込めてこのアートポスター作製しました。
I would be glad if you can understand that behind the official posters of the SDGs, there are hidden problems that we really need to pay attention to.
SDGsの公式ポスターの裏に本当に私たちが目を向けなければならない問題が隠れてしまっているということが伝わると嬉しいです。

4.Quality education 質の高い教育をみんなに
I believe that through art we can improve our knowledge about the SDGs and also about our own fields of interest.
アートを通じてSDGsについてはもちろん、自分の興味がある分野への知識を高めることができると私は思います。
In the process of creating art, we do a lot of research and thinking.
アートを制作する過程で、調査や思考を沢山行います。
It leads us to a deeper understanding of our field of interest.
それらは自分の興味がある分野へのより深い理解へ導いてくれます。
17.Partnerships for the goals パートナーシップで目標を達成しよう
In this activity, I have been helped by a lot of people.
この活動で、私は多くの人の協力を得ました。
Sending me illustration art, discussing ideas for catchphrases, receiving inspiration for art design, etc.
イラストアートを送ってもらったり、キャッチフレーズのアイデアの相談にのってもらったりアートデザインのインスピレーションをもらったりなど。
This activity made me feel the kindness of many people and I felt a lot of gratitude.
多くの人のあたたかさにふれ、ありがたみを多く感じる活動でした。

When I thought about the relationship between the 17 SDG goals and my art project, I found it difficult to choose some goals.
SDGsの17のゴールと私のアートプロジェクトの関係を考えたときに、特定のゴールを選ぶことは難しいとわかりました。
This is because the art you make can be linked to many goals.
なぜなら、制作するアートによってさまざまなゴールと結び付けることができるからです。
If the art is about gender, it can be related to Goal 5, if the art is about environmental issues, it can be related to Goals 6 and 13.
ジェンダーに関するアートならばゴール5と結びつくし、環境問題に関するアートならばゴール6や13と結びつきます。
Art has the potential to be linked to all goals.
アートは全てのゴールと結びつく可能性を持っているのです。
What did you do well?
This time, I asked my friends and deHaan sensei to make and send illustrations to me.
今回友達とディハーン先生にイラストを制作して送ってもらうように頼みました。
It was interesting to see how everyone thought about the SDGs and what images they had of them through the illustrations.
みんながSDGsについてどう考えているのか、どんなイメージを持っているのかがイラストから伝わってきて面白かったです。
Also, one of the friends who sent in their illustrations said, "It was fun and a good experience to draw pictures while thinking about the SGDs!"
I was happy to hear that.
また、イラストを送ってくれた友人から、「SGDsについて考えながら絵を描くのは楽しかったしいい経験になったよ！」といってもらえたので嬉しかったです。
What could you have done better?
There were so many things I wanted to do that I tried to do them all.
やりたいことが多すぎて全部詰め込もうとしてしまいました。
I want to use art sent by everyone, I want to convey the appeal of art, I want to make 'sarcastic' posters, etc…
みんなに描いてもらったアートを使いたい、アートの魅力を伝えたい、'sarcastic' なポスターを作りたいなど。
I thought it was difficult to do what I wanted to say if there was too much.
情報量が多いと伝えたいことが伝わりにくいように思いました。
What did you learn?
First of all, I discovered many new things.
まずは、新しい発見が多くありました。
Through this activity I learnt that there are many activities related to art taking place all over the world.
今回の活動を通して私はアートに関する多くの活動が世界中で行われていることを知りました。
TED Talk【 JR: Can Art Change the World? | TED 】, which deHaan sensei taught us, it is oneis one discoveryof discovering. ”Can Art Change the world?” was a very interesting theme for me.
クラスの中でディハーン先生に教えてもらったTED Talkもその一つです。アートは世界をかえられるか？というテーマはとても興味深いものでした。
‘Sarcastic' was also a new discovery.
また、’Sarcastic' も新たな発見でした。
It was a very engaging theme and it was fun to see various sarcastic posters.
とても人の興味を引き付けやすいテーマで、さまざまなポスターを見ることはとても楽しいものでした。
I also felt once again that I like the activity of creating art.
また、改めて自分がアートを制作するという活動が好きだと実感しました。
There were many times when I got stuck in the production process, but with the help of the people around me, I was able to finish the project.
なんども制作に行き詰る場面はありましたが、周りの人たちの助けもあり、最後までプロジェクトをやり切ることができました。
I think that the feeling of 'liking' is the most important thing.
「好き」という気持ちはなによりも大切なものだと思います。
How does this project connect to your future?
Through this project I have learnt about the possibilities of art and the importance of continuing to do what I 'love'.
私はこのプロジェクトを通して、アートの可能性と、自分の「好き」なことを続けるという大切さを知ることができました。
I realized once again how much I love drawing, creating art and looking at art.
いかに私が絵を描くこと、アートを制作すること、アートを見ることが大好きだと改めて気が付きました。
I think this experience will help me a lot because in the future I want to work in a job where I can use the art I love.
将来自分の大好きなアートを使うことのできる仕事に就きたいと考えているため、今回の経験はとても私の役に立つと思います。
How will this project be sustained/continued?
It may be difficult to get involved in big projects right away.
すぐに大きなプロジェクトに参加したりすることは難しいかもしれません。
But it is easy to introduce my friends and family to art projects and my favorite illustrators.
でも、友達や家族にアートプロジェクトや自分の好きなイラストレーターさんを紹介したりすることは簡単です。
I would like to tell everyone about the possibilities of art from little things like that.
私はそういうちょっとしたところからアートの可能性をみんなに伝えていきたいと思います。
Also, I really liked 'sarcastic', so I think I'll be looking at those in the future!
あと、’sarcastic’が気に入ったのでこれからもそれらを見ようと思います！
What advice do you have for: future students, collaborators, other people?
This class allows you to work on what interests you anyway!
このクラスはとにかく自分の興味のある分野に取り組むことができます！
The small group makes it easy to communicate and the discussions are fun.
小人数なのでコミュニケーションもとりやすいし、ディスカッションも楽しいです。
In class, "Pepsi produces a lot of plastic, but would you stop drinking Pepsi if you thought about the environment?"
It was a very exciting discussion.
「ペプシは多くのプラスチックを排出しているけれど、環境のことを考えてペプシを飲むことをやめるか？」ということを話し合いましたが、
とても盛り上がりました。
