Why do we leave food?

Brainstorming and Notepad(What problems are you aware of? What are you curious about?)
I think many students take care of eating and food waste. That’s why the amount of food waste in the UOS is less than in other restaurants. There are some ideas.
I try not to dispose of food. Eat up everything I got.(Ko,Juan,Shota,Riku,Keita,Kaede,Ryoma)
I think the standards of feeling full are different by country. (Subaru)
Have Food Cafe in Kendal which is served free food for students (Van)
School lunch helps children who don’t afford to have meals at home because of poverty.(Saho)
In my job place, we had a lot of food waste(Riku, Yusuke, shota)
Sell things that cannot be sold at stores at cheaper prices than usual.(Kaede)
There are a lot of people who don’t have enough food in the world. (Aoi, Takumi, Juan)
Do we have to change our standards? If so, we might feel tough (Subaru)
・A lot of food is wasted at my part-time job. I think if we give these to poor people, maybe hunger would be reduced. Each person can do little, but I think that small steps will accomplish big things in the future. At first, we need to start thinking about SDGs, and next, take action. It is important for us to live in this world.
I think it is unnatural that there is a lot of food and waste or trash food while there are suffering hunger so that no food.
We want to solute this contradiction ., and want to no one die due to hunger. Our goal is no hunger. Surely we cant make an ideal world right now with your power. But we need to face this difficult problem and think solution even though we can do the thing is very little.
we should establish a big food bank. It helps reduce food loss and hunger.
we send a message Lagos food bank which is NGO and in Nigeria. It helps a lot of people who suffering from hunger. So we focus on this organization and try contact them.
We contact food back in Fujinomiya it also helps hungry people. We do not know there is such an organization in Shizuoka. When actually surveying, we might visit there and interview, and do some volunteer action.
Narrow down your (SDG-related) topic(s) or problems you are interested in.
Food loss reduction.
Hypothesis or question
What do you know?
There is a lot of wasted food and suffering from hunger
How did you become interested in this?
In my part-time job, there is a lot of food waste.
we watch the news that there are not plenty food , but other side there are a lot of food and trashing.
What should you know about it?
How much food is wasted?
Who is throwing away food?
People who didn't have enough time to eat or couldn't eat the whole meal are thrown away.
Even though we can not search word, we can search around us.
Question: how much amount food is thrown in our school?
Hypothesis: It depends on the location, but a considerable amount may be thrown away.
How will you collect data to answer the question?
Things. (e.g., observe and notes, photos, audio, video, collect and tally, ???, ???, ???).
take the picture, or talk to the food staff in the Uos.
Locations. (home, street, train, shops, school, job, city, books, documents, nature, media, internet, SNS, ???, ???, ???)
school cafeteria in university
Describe your process, step by step. Be specific.
Make an appointment to cafeteria and take the picture how much food are wasted.
And think what we should do to reduce food loss from the date.
Count the number how many students left behind and how much wasted in the kitchen.
who is tend to waste food? man ? women ? teacher ?
Do a risk assessment. Are there any dangers involved in your data collection?
We need to permission to take the picture of food waste in kendai .
Where do we need to make appointment? Office or cafeteria directly?
5.Collect and record date
We took the pictures about cafeteria's leftovers and shops unsold.
6.Analyze data
Leftovers were about the same amount of waste every day. The amount of unsold items varied from day to day. When I talked to the clerk, about 1 kg of waste is generated every day.
7.Answer your question or hypothesis using your data. Present your answer clearly. Summarize and highlight important aspects. Why are your findings interesting?
First of all, we each had a part-time job at a restaurant and were interested in food loss. The hypothesis was that a certain amount would remain, but the impression was less than expected. Most of the leftover food was soup.
8.Reflect. Do an evaluation of your process and data. (what problems did you realize from your data/analysis? What could/should you do better next time?)
It is difficult for everyone to drink up all the soup. How can we aim for zero food loss?
9.Connect. How does this fieldwork connect to you and your future?
Some people in the world can eat a lot, while others can't. Perhaps it is impossible to prevent food loss at all.
I think we can do very little, but at least we need to keep thinking.
Analyze data. What does your data show? What are the trends and outliers, main aspects and minor interesting details in the data?
The amount of leftover food did not change much from day to day. On the other hand, it was found that the unsold amount changes depending on the day, the weather, and the temperature. I was wondering what would happen in each season
Answer your question or hypothesis using your data. Present your answer clearly. Summarize and highlight important aspects. Why are your findings interesting?
The impression was that there was less leftover food than I expected. It turned out that there were not a few unsold items. As the summer came, the amount of noodles used for cold noodles such as Tenkasu increased, and as a result, the amount of leftover food increased.
Reflect. Do an evaluation of your process and data. (what problems did you realize from your data/analysis? What could/should you do better next time?)
There was about the same amount of leftover food every day.

Next, we will develop concrete ideas on how to reduce leftover food and help children suffering from hunger.

Short summary
Which SDGs this relates to, and how
No Hunger
Think about eating everything that is served with the awareness that there are people who want to eat but cannot.
Why this research matters to you, to the local community, and to the global community
There are many people all over the world who want to eat but cannot. In it, we have countless leftovers. I work part-time at a restaurant and have a lot of waste food every day. I felt it was very wasteful, so I investigated it.
RESEARCH REPORT
Introduction
⌨️Do you know how much food is thrown away per day? Have you ever seen a lot of food thrown away at a part-time job? I was surprised when I saw a lot of food wasted at the restaurant I work at.
So I'm interested in the food waste problems and think about how can we reduce food waste.

Your fieldwork
⌨️Our fieldwork is investigating how much food is thrown away at our university. We took a picture at a school cafeteria and store in the UOS.
What
⌨️Food waste in the UOS
When
⌨️After lunchtime, almost about 13:00
Where
⌨️It is so difficult to research at a restaurant. So we investigate it in our school cafeteria and store in the UOS .
How
⌨️We took a picture at school cafeteria.
Why
Because we saw a lot of food waste at our part-time job and became interested in it.
Problems
⌨️A lot of food is thrown away in restaurants.
Actions
⌨️ We went to a school cafeteria and took pictures of leftover food and of unsold food items after the lunchtime break.
Other people/groups working on this problem
⌨️food banks
Local community connections
⌨️There is a food bank in Fuji
Global community connections
⌨️Nigeria has a food bank called "Lagos food bank"
Anything else
⌨️Bottom the page, there is a presentation about our research.
Conclusion
⌨️We found a lot of food is thrown away in In the UOS. Similarly, we can expect much more food to be thrown away at restaurants in Japan. However, there are many people around the world who do not have enough food. How can we redistribute the excess food in developed countries to those suffering from hunger? At what point in the food production chain would we try to redistribute food? This is a critical question. Next, we would like to research the hunger problems that are occurring around the world.
We really recommend that watch presentation of the bottom to make it easier to understand.
