Help foreign children at Japanese school
PHAT (S, 2021)
Short summary
⌨️ Nowadays, there are many foreigners living in Japan, especially the number of them has increased in Shizuoka city in recent years. Therefore, there are a lot of foreign children living in Shizuoka city and going to nursery school, secondary high school as well as senior high school. However, there are a lot of foreign parents in Shizuoka city who don't know how to help their children enter the nursery school as well as other high level of education. So, I think the authority in Shizuoka city should focus on helping these foreign children have equal education like Japanese children.
Which SDGs this relates to, and how
⌨️ This project is related with the SDGs Target number 4 ( Bringing high education to everyone )

本プロジェクトはSDGsの目標4番の「質の高い教育を皆に」に直接に関連しています。

Now in Shizuoka prefecture, only about 60% of the foreign students enter into senior high school. This percentage is considerably low when compared with Japanese students. It happens because some students drop out of primary school or junior high school. There are others who want to get in senior high school but are not able to go because of financial reasons, or the lack of understanding of their parents. Therefore, N-pocket which is an organization in Hamamatsu has been organizing guidance of entering a senior high school as well as providing a lot of information a guidebook made by them since 2004. Now, this guidebook is translated to 6 languages: English, Japanese, Portuguese , Spanish, Filipino and Chinese. I still wonder why there are so many Vietnamese families living in Hamamatsu but it is still not translated to Vietnamese. Besides that, Not everyone know about this, especially in Shizuoka city, there is still no guidance about entering Japanese senior high school for foreign children. So, as a Vietnamese person and as a foreigner living in Shizuoka, I want to help all the foreign children in Shizuoka city can get more opportunities to enter Japanese senior high school through my project!
EXCELLENT info!
RESEARCH REPORT
Introduction
⌨️ Education is really necessary for everyone. We can't work or do anything good for ourselves and for people without education. However, there are many children are at risk of not be able to get good education due to the lack of knowledge from their parents as well as lack of information and not well-arranged education system in Shizuoka city.
According to data from Shizuoka city official site, about 250 foreign children are not getting good Japanese education and the number tends to increase year by year.
https://www.city.shizuoka.lg.jp/000869110.pdf
Many people may say that is just a small number and it shouldn't be considered as a big problem. However, with the dramatical change in multicultural symbiotic societies , the number of foreigner in Shizuoka city will be going to increase quickly and the number of foreign children also increase as a result of this. Although, a bigger problem is that Shizuoka city still not have any guidance book providing with information of entering Japanese school for foreign children.
So, if the authority in Shizuoka does not have any idea to help foreign children in the area, it might become a social problem someday.

Who
⌨️ Foreign children living in Shizuoka city . As I said before, there are about 250 foreign children living in Shizuoka city now and more than half of them are going to primary and nursery school.
https://www.city.shizuoka.lg.jp/000869110.pdf
What
⌨️ Helping them study Japanese as well as urging the authority to build more nursery school and places where Japanese children and foreign children can play and get communication with each other. Besides that, we also need to provide and update a lot of information about ways to enter Japanese school in Shizuoka city for foreign parents.
Because if they don't know any information about entering Japanese school , they may feel worried about their children future and think about going to other prefecture or area. Or they may get a lot of troubles in getting their children to Japanese school.

⌨️
Why

So, what are the benefits from good education?
Securing high income
Developing problem solving skill
Improving the economy
Providing a prosperous and happy life
Giving back good value to the community: Well-educated people can understand what problems that the society are facing and can contribute their knowledge to create many new technologies or things making the community become better.
Creating modern society: Well-educated children will become useful people who can create or make many good things , even just give ideas to change the society better by their knowledge and thinking.

・ Communicating helps people to express their ideas and feelings, and it, at the same time, helps us to understand emotion and thoughts of the others. As a result, we will develop affection or hatred toward other people, and positive or negative relationships will be created.
On the other hand, communication also helps building good relationship and is required in all kinds of business.
Problems
⌨️ Although in other areas in Shizuoka Prefecture such as Hamamatsu or Fuji, the authorities and people there have created a big network organization to help foreign children such as:
Canal Hamamatsu which is a website providing a lot of useful information for foreign residents in Hamamatsu city at all sides of living https://www.city.hamamatsu.shizuoka.jp/hamaeng/06education/06_3.html
https://www.hamamatsu-pippi.net/shiritai/gaikoku/
http://tomo2kodomo.com/ Besides that, Hamamatsu city also has lots of classes that not only teach foreign children Japanese but also their native language.
However, there is still not much network organizations like those in Shizuoka city. They just focus on helping foreign children learn Japanese.
https://www.city.shizuoka.lg.jp/556_000043.html#h2_1
In Shizuoka city now, they just have [ Kodomo mirai kyoku] where helps parents for growing child.
So, I hope my project will make the authority in Shizuoka city understand that they need to have some good organizations like Hamamatsu city which provide a lot of information about entering Japanese school for foreigners as service.
Actions
⌨️ Get many people in Shizuoka city know about this.
https://www.city.shizuoka.lg.jp/000869110.pdf
Now in Shizuoka city, people are talking about how to support foreign children with studying Japanese. With the lack of facilities for teaching Japanese as well as not well-arranged system, lots of foreign children are not able to get good Japanese education in their primary , nursery and senior high school.
Therefore, they are going to build new facility in Miho to support Japanese study for foreign children.
On the other hand, they are also recruiting volunteers of teaching Japanese free.
So, we can see that Shizuoka city just aim at supporting Japanese study and don't focus on providing information about ways to enter Japanese school for foreign parents. That makes a lot of foreign parents feel worried about their children future.

Conclusion
⌨️Helping foreign children means making the world, especially Japan better. Every single one of us should help all foreign children study Japanese as well as Japan's culture and give their parents a lot of information of entering Japanese school in order to make sure that no one of them is not able to get good education.
