1 Chronicles 28:9
Seeking the LORD
9 “And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the LORD searches every heart and understands every motive behind the thoughts. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.
Isaiah 64:4
Waiting on the LORD
4 Since ancient times no one has heard,
no ear has perceived,
no eye has seen any God besides you,
who acts on behalf of those who wait for him.
Psalms 105:4
Seek the LORD Always
4 Look to the LORD and his strength;
seek his face always.
Matthew 7:7-8
Seek the LORD and You Will Find Him
7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
The aspect of seeking the LORD has intrigued me for quite some time...Because we know that even our Great Saints sought the LORD, and He wasn't always there, when they prayed (so it seems)...The Great Saints wanted His Presence as much or more than most...But I am sure that even they had and have their days of doubt...God could, if He wants, always have us feeling His Presence...But He does not want that...This is because the LORD, His knowledge, and His timing is perfect...He comes to us at just the right time...He knows when the time is right for man...So since He is always on His schedule, that means He is not on our schedule...He comes when He knows it is right...And sometimes we do not think He is answering our prayers as quick as we want or as understandable as we want...Job comes to mind, when I think of this...And sometimes the waiting for the prayer to be answered is the hardest part...
So inherently, we must wait on the LORD, as we seek Him...He is not going to come on our time or the wrong time...He will come to us as we seek Him, when the time is right...Waiting is hard... Waiting for Him to be in our lives, and to see and feel His presence is hard...Some times our waiting seems futile...Waiting takes patience...Many of our prayers is about His Presence...We want or need something...Those Great Saints and great believers are praying and actually waiting for God to show up...
Wise men awaited the First Advent of our LORD, and they were rewarded...These wise men must have been patient, for their years of waiting...Then it happened...A Child was born, but He was not an ordinary Child...These wise men saw the greatest reward the would ever see in their lives, and He was lying in a manger, wrapped in swaddling clothes...Wise men await the Second Advent of our LORD to see good overcome all the evil in the world...I think the first wise men who visited Jesus used their waiting time to their advantage...The wise men awaited the Messiah...Then they sought Him and found Him...They had studied the Scriptures, the Bible and knew the things to do to follow and how to find the LORD, when the right time came...
We must seek the LORD continually...We must seek His presence continually...The Psalmist says we are to seek His face always...We must be ready for the LORD in our lives, when He comes...We must use the time we wait for Him like the wise men did...Waiting does not mean doing nothing...All these things take great patience, study, and mostly faith...Jesus has come, and for believers He shall come again...We have been blessed by His great promise...The promise is, if we seek Him with all our heart and all our soul, we will find Him...When we find Him, we will be blessed with His Presence...God Himself is our Greatest Reward...He is the Greatest Answer to any and all of our prayers...And God answers our prayers at the right time...
