Matthew 6:5-15
The LORD'S Prayer
5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
9 “This, then, is how you should pray:
“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
10 your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.’
14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
Matthew 18:19-20
Where Two or More are Gathered in Jesus' Name
19 Again, I tell you truly that if two of you on the earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by My Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three gather together in My name, there am I with them.”
Acts 17:24-31
God Made the World and Everything in Heaven and Earth
24 “The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands. 25 And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else. 26 From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. 27 God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. 28 ‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’
29 “Therefore since we are God’s offspring, we should not think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone—an image made by human design and skill. 30 In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent. 31 For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead.
”This is how we should pray, "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven...Give us today our daily bread...And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors...And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one."...For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you...But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins...
So when Jesus told us to pray to our Father that His Kingdom has come on earth as it has in heaven, then we are believing that God’s Kingdom is near us and is now on earth...And that God has made two worlds -heaven and earth...We are believing that where two or more are gathered in His name then He is there and He is near and not far from any of us...Thus the believer in Jesus sees this world of our earthly life and Another World (that is the Kingdom of God) as two different worlds...Yet, the two different worlds have come together as we pray that His Kingdom come on earth and His will gets done on earth as it does in heaven...Jesus presence on earth has begun a new revelation, a new time, where we are told that His Presence on earth means that He is given all authority by God and is One with God...And God has proven that He is the Messiah of the Old Testament and has this Authority by raising Him from the dead...
