Matthew 7:1-5
Jesus on Judging Others
1 “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
3 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
Proverbs 17:27
Be Cool and Restrained
27 The one who has knowledge uses words with restraint,
and whoever has understanding is even-tempered.
Matthew 5:43-45
Love for Enemies
43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
Loving God and loving our neighbors, and loving our enemies helps us take a lot of the criticism and judging out of the way we think about our neighbors and enemies...Being non-judgmental of them helps our relationship with them...It allows us to love and forgive them more easily...Criticizing and judging can easily produce anger and problem situations with them, so let us retain our judgmental words and our criticism, and be of cool spirit...Let us remember all people, and not just your family and friends are created in the image of God...And it is good to remind yourself, that one who has a lifetime of learning, experiences, feelings, and beliefs is hard to change in one or two settings...
When we judge people we are not following Jesus' teachings...Jesus was always loving and forgiving...And no one matches His Integrity or His Truths...When we judge people, He says that then we will be judged by that exact same measure as we are judging that person or persons...Jesus wants us to remove the log from our own eyes, and the intolerance from our hearts for our neighbor and enemy...We all have specks and logs in our eyes, too...Only Jesus is without sin...We are to love our neighbors and our enemies and realize we have the same logs in our eyes, as our neighbors and enemies...
Jesus brings us Truth and Grace and put it in the gospel and the Good News He brings...Absolute Integrity brings us the Absolute Truth...Integrity and Truth bring us love...It also brings us grace...Let us be less critical and judging and we can be more loving and forgiving..
