Psalm 19:1-6
The Heavens Declare the Glory of God
1 The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
2 Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they reveal knowledge.
3 They have no speech, they use no words;
no sound is heard from them.
4 Yet their voice goes out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.
In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun.
5 It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,
like a champion rejoicing to run his course.
6 It rises at one end of the heavens
and makes its circuit to the other;
nothing is deprived of its warmth.
Matthew 6:28-29
Nature Speaks of God's Work
28 See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.
Psalm 102:25-28
God Created the Earth and the Heavens
25 In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth,
and the heavens are the work of your hands.
26 They will perish, but you remain;
they will all wear out like a garment.
Like clothing you will change them
and they will be discarded.
27 But you remain the same,
and your years will never end.
28 The children of your servants will live in your presence;
their descendants will be established before you."
In the beginning God laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of His hands...The earth and the heavens declare the glory of our LORD; the skies proclaim the work of His hands...Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge...And even though they have no speech, and they use no words; or no sound is heard from them -something is there...And this voice goes out into all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world...In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun...It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, like a champion rejoicing to run his course...It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is deprived of its warmth...There is great order and great beauty in the foundations of the earth on its tilted axis as it spins around the sun...The beauty of an Illinois hill covered with wild flowers growing, just look like they ought to be there...And Jesus tells us that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these flowers growing wild on the hill...And as one lives on earth they can look all around and up and see some sort of harmony and order in nature and its skies...This beauty around us speaks to the eye and is heard in the heart...
I like to see pictures and images of older homes, especially those homes in the 1800's, which show ornate wood...I love the beauty of an old home, its workmanship, and its architecture...One sees great beauty, organization and great structure...I can only imagine how the one with all the ideas for this house, came to that carpenter -and then to go on to build such an elegant old home...If this old house could speak it would reveal much knowledge about the workmanship that was done in it...And as I think about these things and all the ideas one had to have to build such a beautiful home, I think of about this carpenter...There had to be one you know...A house with all the floors and walls and doors with all their trim, declare there must have been a masterful carpenter somewhere doing this work...The trim alone declare the work of his hands...As one looks around in a house as described, one knows for certain that a masterful carpenter was in charge...
The beauty and organization and how something is built shows off much talent...A house shows of a master carpenter...One understands that beauty and organization and symmetry does not happen in random and without a Creator...The universe speaks about God...A Master Builder of the Universe has built and created the heavens and earth...He has fine tuned it, so that man can live on it...The earth and universe speak for and about God...
Nature, earth, and the heavens speak the glory of God...Day by day they speak to us of the LORD's glory...Night after night knowledge is revealed through these things....And even though they have no speech, and they use no words; or no sound is heard from them, something is spoken...And their voice goes out into all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world...What is quite remarkably about this Voice and these words -is that some will hear these things, others will not...
The voice of nature goes out into all the earth, nature's words go to the ends of the world...Are we listening and hearing nature speak?...Are we watching and seeing nature and what she is doing?...In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun...What is He trying to tell us and tell us through nature?...
