Matthew 7:13-14
The Narrow and Wide Gates
13 "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
Psalm 119:104-105
Your Word is a Lamp for My Feet
104 I gain understanding from your precepts;
therefore I hate every wrong path.
105 Your word is a lamp for my feet,
a light on my path.
It is easy to get off on the wrong path in life, while the good and righteous path is just not easy...
When Jesus said the road to heaven was a narrow one, with a narrow gate and the road to destruction and sin is a wide one and easier to take in your life...I think both believers and many non-believers can see this...One path is the path of God's Will and doing what God wants us to do, and the other is our own path in life and we choosing each and everyday what we want to do -doing it our way and without God or Jesus...The road to the Kingdom of God is an uphill road, hard and tiresome-climbing uphill, and a costly one...It is much easier to follow our own path of our own ideas and our own choices, than the path of God-and His Will and His Ways...While the Kingdom of Heaven is well lit by the One who calls Himself the Light, the road to destruction is a dark one...This path on earth is easy and the flesh is weak and will most likely follow this and want to follow this well worn dark path...
