Genesis 1:1
God Creates the Living Creatures
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Acts 17:24-28
God is Not Far Away From Any of Us
24 “The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands. 25 And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else. 26 From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. 27 God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. 28 ‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’
Romans 1:18-23
Paul's Argument for God
18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.
21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.
Matthew 6:28-30
The Beautiful Presence of the Lilies
28 "And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
To believe in God, I think at some point you have to take a look at all the things around us...Creation just happens to be all around us and if you believe that God created the heavens and earth, then you believe have to believe or at least consider that there is this divinity all around us, and that it surrounds us, and it therefore is near to us, and it is always there...Because nature and everything that was created in the beginning is God's Work, it is His hand, and Creation is always here and near to us...Creation then is lined and covered with God's Design and Doing...And God's Creation is such that creation drives our appreciation for beauty...And to believe this one, I think, has to believe that beauty is not transitory, but will live forever and ever...
So there is this beauty all around us, but sometimes I wonder if I miss many of the beautiful things that God created...Do I miss the beautiful wild lilies in the field lying above the beautiful green grass?...Or am I so absorbed in what I want to do and what I need to do that I miss God's lilies placed among the grasses?...And for some beauty can confirm and/or strengthen one's faith...After all this Divine Beauty is near us and is always around us...Jesus said that not even even Solomon great earthly wisdom and in all his regal splendor was dressed like one of these lilies of the field...So if that is how God clothes the grass of the field with such great beauty, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, can't we believe that God, our Father will do much more that clothe us like He does the fields...And He adds that we need faith to believe this, and says, "O you of little faith."...
And I also believe their is this lens in each of the believer's faith that sees this beauty of these lilies of the field and somehow sees God better in our Divine Nature, our Divine Creation that we see each and everyday...And this beauty makes one better see and sense that their faith is personal with God, the Father, His Son, and the Holy Spirit...One sees this and senses this because the beauty each of us see in our lives, is different for each of us, but the beauty is their in nature and is awaiting us...
And to strengthen this belief on beauty, one can look into the beautiful pictures of different galaxies through telescopes and long range viewing equipment and be overcome by the beauty of not only the beauties of the earth and what is near to us, but see the beautiful pictures that the universe gives us from the likes of the space vehicle Hubble...And we can ponder that God has not only lavished such beautiful arts and crafts here on earth but has put beauty in the skies miles away in places and spaces...
So, if you believe this, one can see how Paul would say to the Athenians that God is near to us, and wants us to seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him...We can see how we might better see Paul saying that God is being revealed to us from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them...Because God has made His creation plain to see...So from the beginning the creation of the world not only shows God’s invisible qualities—but it also shows His eternal power and divine nature of His existence...Because Creation can be clearly seen by our witnessing it...And Creation has been made, so that people are without excuse as they look around and see this Divinity is all around us...Creation and its beauty holds the fingerprints of God...
