Matthew 6:25-34
Do Not Worry
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Philippians 2:5-11
Keep and Have the Mindset of Jesus
5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
7 rather, he made himself nothing
by taking the very nature of a servant,
being made in human likeness.
8 And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
by becoming obedient to death—
even death on a cross!
9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.
Acts 1:1-5
Jesus Comes Back from His Death for Forty Days
1 In my former book, Theophilus, I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach 2 until the day he was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen. 3 After his suffering, he presented himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God. 4 On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. 5 For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.”
Jesus has an attitude...His attitude is to put God first...It is the attitude of Jesus to seek first the kingdom of God -above all other things...
We are told by One who knows, to seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things of earth will be given to you as well...Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself...Each day has enough trouble of its own...So let us rely on the will of God and follow Him...And by following Him daily, one must trust Him...We as man have our routines and our habits and our daily activities that seem to get us in these very deep earthly ruts...And these ruts become so embedded in us, they become what we do day in and day out...They are our daily habits...And our daily habits become what we become and do each and everyday...And each day we are either inching toward heaven or inching the other way...So we do need the proper mindset...
Daily we must keep in our minds the mindset of Jesus...In your relationships with one another and what we do each day, we should have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to His own advantage; rather, He made Himself nothing by taking the very nature of a Servant, being made in human likeness...And being found in appearance as a Man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross!...Therefore, God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is LORD, to the glory of God the Father...
So though Jesus was Almighty and Divine, He humbled Himself for us and came to teach us...Do we really get this and His teachings?...The most Powerful Being EVER came to earth and let us hang Him from a tree, when we had absolutely no power over Him...He transformed Himself completely and became a teacher, servant, and man by ridding Himself of His Divine powers for us...We thought we could and had killed Him on the cross...But He came back to His Disciples for forty days...Jesus reached out to us and for us...Now I think the question is can we transform ourselves and believe in Him and what He did for us...Let us seek God and His Kingdom first, each and everyday...
