Matthew 6:12
12 And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.

Jesus on Forgiveness

Luke 6:37
Forgiving Others
37 “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.
Luke 17:3-4
Jesus On Forgiveness
3 So watch yourselves.
“If your brother or sister sins against you, rebuke them; and if they repent, forgive them. 4 Even if they sin against you seven times in a day and seven times come back to you saying ‘I repent,’ you must forgive them.”
Jesus teaches us to forgive others seventy times seven...This is not a literal number, but He is telling us to constantly forgive and have forgiveness on own minds...Jesus was and is always forgiving...He died on the cross to forgive us of the sins that we committed...When we think about this, they were not His sins but our sins that put Him on the cross...My sins are why He was hung from a cross...That is what my sins did...
When someone has sinned against us and they repent forgive them...Even if they sin against you seven times in the same day and they come back seven times to you saying ‘I repent,’ you must forgive them.”...We ask that our sin debts be banished, and we must pray that we also have forgiven others who have sinned against us...We are to be ready and willing to forgive, and all the time...
Not forgiving can bog us down and slow down our lives...And Jesus did not teach forgive, but I won't forget...He put no condition on His forgiving us...We are to forgive as we have been forgiven by Him...Jesus forgave out of grace...And most importantly He died on the cross forgiving us...
I now see forgiveness as one of the great attributes of life in the gospels...There is this Great Beauty in the ones who can go on in life with enthusiasm, love, and forgiveness...When we are harmed or our family is harmed, we find it difficult to forgive...To add and include forgiveness to this part of our life, makes love and enthusiasm more difficult...Yet, it is in our forgiving of others and our forgiveness that we learn much about love...
