My school journey has been shaped not only by academics but also by the invaluable experiences offered beyond the classroom. One of the most meaningful opportunities I’ve had was participating in the Internationalisation Programme to Bandung, Indonesia. This programme, along with several other leadership initiatives, helped me grow as a global-minded student and a confident leader—all thanks to the strong support and encouragement from my school and family.
Beyond the Internationalisation Programme, I also participated in several leadership initiatives such as MESRA 60 for 60. Where only 60 selected students all over Singapore get together. Connecting generations and meeting new people. LEAD camp where we learn how to be a leader and support others. I've also completed my Outward Bound Singapore (OBS) journey where we learnt survival skills and interact with other students from different schools.
These leadership camps and programmes help me to maintain my role as a leader and to always reflect on myself. These programs taught me valuable skills such as communication, teamwork and decision-making. They also gave me the confidence to lead by example and support others around me.
I am especially grateful to my school for making these experiences possible. From planning and funding the Internationalisation Programme to encouraging student involvement in leadership roles, the school played a huge part in shaping my growth. The teachers and staff always believed in our potential and pushed us to take on challenges that helped us discover our strengths.
These opportunities allowed me to grow not just as a student, but as a leader and global citizen. I’ve learned the importance of being open-minded, taking initiative and giving back to the community. Thanks to my school’s strong support for holistic education, I now feel more prepared for the future—and inspired to continue learning and leading.
