JFCS continues to be here to support you and your families during the pandemic. We want you to know that we are listening and if you or someone you know need help, please let us know.
Mental Health Support - Adults
Individual counseling for adults is available by calling 412-521-3800 or emailing counseling@jfcspgh.org.
Various support groups are available and open to anyone in the community. Some are specific to teens or adults and all are free of charge. Please go to www.jfcspgh.org/events where you can see our monthly calendar of all the groups being offered. We do ask that you register ahead of time in order to receive the zoom links.
JFCS posts numerous videos to help people get through the issues we all face. You can check our public Facebook page to see some of them at facebook.com/JFCSPGH, even if you don't have an account!
Mental Health Support - Teens
For tweens, teens and their parents, we have launched UpStreet - mental health and wellness support available virtually and for free. Individual counseling and groups are available. Most importantly we have easy support available through Charlie Chatbot on our website www.upstreetpgh.org. Charlie is an easy to use chat feature that anyone can access for support in the moment. While geared to the adolescents, parents can use it too if they are looking for ways to help their kids.
Financial Assistance
If you or someone you know need some financial assistance, The JFCS Squirrel Hill Food Pantry can help. Food is available for those who need and access to case workers who can help you determine other programs for which you may be eligible. You can reach the Pantry at 412-421-2708 or foodpantry@jfcspgh.org
You can also reach out for direct financial help to JFunds, which brings together the Pantry, Hebrew Free Loan, Jewish Scholarship Service, and Jewish Assistance Fund to help you in one stop. www.jfundspgh.org
A resource recommended for older students to understand why they need to decrease contact with others.
