Which one of these books is real (nonfiction)? Which one is pretend (fiction)? How can you tell?
The following illustrations are from the wordless book Owl Bat Bat Owl, by Marie-Louise Fitzpatrick. Study the pictures and make up a story to go along with them. If you want, have a grown-up take a video of you telling the story and upload it here!
Learn about owls and bats. What do they have in common? What makes them different? Can you draw a picture of each?
Fine Motor
Use scissors to cut out scraps of construction paper or magazine pages. Use your scraps to make spring flowers.
Gross Motor
Pretend that you are an owl or bat and "fly" around your bedroom or backyard!
Literacy
Can you make a letter W out of toys? Can you make any other letters?
Mathematics
Go on a math scavenger hunt!
Art
Experiment with crayons and watercolors to create resist art. If you have a white crayon, you can write your name and make it appear by painting over it!
