Read and Research Artist.
Look through all online source materials for project inspiration. You want to know who Banksy is and his significance in Contemporary Art.
Turn Paper Horizontal.
Remember, horizontal is turning it wide instead of tall. This is the “orientation” of your paper.
Draw Ground.
With black marker, draw the ground across the bottom. This can be grass, rocks, sand, concrete, etc.
Draw Little Girl.
Looking at the Banksy image above, “Girl with Balloon,” simply draw out the little girl as best as you can. Only use black marker. Start with her head, hair, arms, dress, etc. Make sure one of her hands is floating up towards the “sky” reaching for the balloon that you are going to draw.
Draw Balloon.
With a red marker, draw the balloon leaving her hand. Don’t forget the string! You can use black for the string. Make sure the string leads to her hand.
Fill in Background.
Fill in the background with as many or as few colors as you wish. Make the background bold so that it is a nice contrast with the black marker.
Sh! Leave Your Art Outside.
Secretly, go place your artwork somewhere in your neighborhood. Just leave it outside. This is your “Street Art.” Of course, you can tell your family you are doing this, your parents or siblings could help you find a good spot for your art, but you want to do it “quietly” and “secretly” like a street artist does! Have fun with this act of Art! Take a picture of where you put it and email it to me :)
