Steps:

Have a blast with this!

  1. Find a Plant!

Go outside and find a flower or leaf. Find a flower or leaf that you think is beautiful or interesting. Take it inside to create your painting or drawing.

  1. Look at Your Plant!

Then, look closely at the center of the plant that you picked. Notice it’s shapes, lines, and colors.

  1. Pencil Sketch.

With a pencil, LIGHTLY sketch out the close up flower or leaf that you hold in front of you. Lightly sketch those shapes and lines (the color will come later).

  1. Choose Coloring Materials.

You can choose to make this a painting or drawing. Whatever you are feeling for this project. You can choose a color scheme, like warm or cool colors, primary or secondary colors, or you can use every color!

  1. Color!

Lastly, add color! Carefully color in each leaf or flower shape that you have sketched out. Take your time filling in each shape with color. You want to make the white of the project paper totally disappear. Use solid color.
