The Resource Room has gone mobile! We are still here to help! Our staff is excited to greet the students on line and work with everyone who may need help. If your student has used learning support in the past, great. If not, we are welcoming all. This virtual platform is new to everyone and can cause lots of new feelings and bumps in the road. We can try to smooth out the bumps!
If you need to get in touch with the Resource staff, please reach out. You can also contact your child's classroom teacher and let them know you are interested in some extra support. We are all in this together!

Parents,
You may be seeing that your child may need a special place to take a break from their learning environment and need a specific place to "chill out". This place may need to be different from their bedroom, your living room or family room. Maybe, the kids need to create a special corner in their own room designated for this because you don't have an extra space, just waiting to be converted. Also, maybe a break from learning just requires a fidget or a new sensory experience. This video addresses all of the above. Dr. Ray talks about a Sensory Room for Exceptional Students but the ideas can be adapted on any level. I loved the idea of making a special place for the kids, a place that is just for relaxing! I also loved the idea of the body pillows to hold onto, extra pillows to make a fort at a moments notice and also the ideas to have fidgets on hand. This video is definitely worth a view.
If you would like to talk about it, or your child's needs and how I can help, please contact me. I'd love to hear from you.
Organizing Your Child's Day
This is a helpful video for parents who would like to know more about helping to organize the day for their child. I especially like the idea of putting the day's schedule on a shoebox and putting the child's supplies inside the box. This creates a sense of independence and structure for the child. It's a win/win for all.
