2:00pm: Music art project: Easy Paper Plate Instruments
Small Paper plates
Popcorn kernels, beans, or beads
Crayons or markers
Stapler
Popsicle stick (can skip if you don’t have)
First have the kids draw on the paper plates. They want to draw on the back of the plate (not the side you would eat off of). Next, put some popcorn kernels onto one of the plates. Place another plate on top and help them staple around the entire plate. Staple it enough that the kernels don’t fall out.
Now here’s the fun part: you can make a few types of instruments!
Make it a tambourine
Make it a maraca (before you staple the entire circle of the plate, slide a popsicle stick half way in and staple close to the stick to help it in place (add a little glue too if you have it)
Make a drum – use popsicle sticks to bang on your drum
Make bongo drums: tape two plates of kernels together to make a set of bongo drums
Now you have a number of paper plate, popcorn kernel instruments and you can start a rainy day band!
3:30pm: Live with Moreh Noah!
