Surreal Scene

Project Title:

Surreal Scene

Materials:

-White Paper (project paper)

-Drawing Media (pencil, eraser, colored pencils, markers, or crayons)

OR

-Collage Media (scissors, glue, pencil, eraser, magazines, pictures, etc.)

Steps:

Enjoy and Have fun!

  1. First, choose your materials: drawing OR collage (magazines/pictures that *****your parents allow you to cut up***** Do not cut up anything at all without your parents permission!).

  2. You want to understand what “Surreal” means. Check out the online links to help you be inspired! Surreal means something that looks wild and crazy, something that is real but not quite, something that is placed with or next to something that it normally wouldn’t be in real life, etc. Like, a bird having an elephant body, or the sky being in a box, or a worm flying with a hat on. It could also be inspired by your subconscious A.K.A. your dreams! Dreams can be super weird, and sometimes even weirder than your imagination. Surrealism is funky!

  3. Whether you want to create an image from your imagination right now or from your dreams that you had last night or last week, you want to create a surreal-looking project. If you are drawing, LIGHTLY sketch out your surreal scene with a pencil. If you are creating collage (cutting and pasting different images together), you can also sketch out the surreal scene first before you paste the different images together.

  4. Lastly, for drawing, add color! For collage, cut and paste your images together!

  5. Add as much detail as possible!
