Acts 8:30-33
Sometimes We Need Help with Scripture
30Then Philip ran up to the chariot and heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet. "Do you understand what you are reading?" Philip asked.
31"How can I," he said, "unless someone explains it to me?" So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.
32The eunuch was reading this passage of Scripture:
"He was led like a sheep to the slaughter,
and as a lamb before the shearer is silent,
so he did not open his mouth.
33In his humiliation he was deprived of justice.
Who can speak of his descendants?
For his life was taken from the earth."
In Acts an Ethiopian meets Philip...Philip was on of the seven men chosen to help the disciples in Acts 6...
An angel is guiding Philip to this journey with the Ethiopian, who happens to be in a chariot...The Ethiopian is reading the Book of Isaiah...Philip asks the Ethiopian if he understands the Book of Isaiah...He states "How can I unless someone explains it to me...This is interesting because God does not make every scripture and some things in life easy to understand...
God wants us to search out, to hear from others, to take journeys and trips to discover new paths...God does not give us a manual on living...As children we are constantly seeking out and learning new things...We sort of lose that learning curiosity as we age... But it is still there in us...
The Ethiopian that day with Philip discovers Jesus in the Book of Isaiah...As we walk along the path of life continue learning, continue journeying and continue to seek Him...And when the journey and understanding gets hard to understand seek and ask for help...Others, like Philip are there...God is always there...
