John 1:1-14
The Word of God Becomes Flesh
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
6 There was a man sent from God whose name was John. 7 He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe.8 He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.
9 The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.
14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Mark 8:27-30
Who Do You Say I AM
27 Jesus and his disciples went on to the villages around Caesarea Philippi. On the way he asked them, “Who do people say I am?”
28 They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, one of the prophets.”
29 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?”
Peter answered, “You are the Messiah.”
30 Jesus warned them not to tell anyone about him.
John 14:6-7
Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life
6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”
Luke 9:35
God Says Listen to His Son
35 A voice came from the cloud, saying, "This is my Son, whom I have chosen; listen to him."
Acts 4:12
Salvation is Found Only in the Name of Jesus
12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.
Jesus is the Word of God...Jesus came and dwelt on earth, when the word of God became flesh… God sent His Son to us -to earth from heaven…And as Jesus grew up and began His ministry, we learned about Him and who who is…
So God sent Jesus to us so we would learn…We would learn about God and His glory…We would learn about Jesus His Son…We would learn from His teachings…We would learn from His miracles…We would even learn from His death…We would learn from His resurrection and we learned from His ascension…
And this learning is good…If ever a Man was to be studied and learned from, it would be this Man…God knew that people would want to learn about Him, and from Him, and more about Him –and why wouldn't we…God also knew that after He died, people would still want to learn about this Man, His Son...God knew that the uniqueness about His Son and what He brought to earth would draw people forever to Him…
We have learned that He is Divine, like His Father…And in His amazing life on earth, we learned about Him and many started following Him then…He was so unique, so amazing, so divine that we wanted to follow Him…And today we still want to follow Him…
Jesus is the most wrote about Man, ever to be written about…There are more books about Him than any other Man…There has never been any one like Him…God knew all of this would happen about His Son, because of who He is…God wants us to learn from His Son…God wants us to pay attention to Him…He still wants us to listen to Him...That was another reason God sent Him to us -to follow and listen and learn from Him…And God knew He would forever draw this attention…His life is very mysterious, and quite unexplainable, yet we are forever drawn to Him…I often find myself asking why am I so drawn to this Man?...That is a very difficult question to answer…It is like when He ask His Disciples, "Who do you think I AM?"…Why has His particular teachings stayed around for two thousand years?...Why is He so remembered when other leaders are not?...These are very difficult questions to answer...
I believe the nature of His life on earth is one of complete originality…He healed and taught like no other...There has never been a Man like Jesus…Who would you compare Him to?...What other man or men do you think He is like?...He is totally unlike, any other man…His teachings still tug at the hearts of men…His originality in His teachings meet the wants of every man, even today…There is a pureness that surrounds Him, and in this broken world He feels like He is the One, the Only One that can give us salvation…The One who gets us next to God...Salvation can be found in no one else…
