Acts 1:1-5 Jesus' Teachings Continues

Acts 1:1-5

Jesus Continue to Teach His Disciples

1 In my former book, Theophilus, I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach 2 until the day he was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen. 3 After his suffering, he presented himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God. 4 On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about.5 For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.”John 16:33

Jesus Said He Would Overcome This World

33 "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."

John 20:19-23

Jesus Appears to His Disciples

19 On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” 20 After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord.

21 Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” 22 And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.”

Matthew 24:35

Jesus Words Will Never Pass Away

35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

After Jesus' death He continues to teach His Disciples for forty more days...He seemed over this forty day period to be able to walk in and out of time...It is like He is in another dimension, especially after His death...He seems to be able to appear anywhere He wants to...I think these last forty days that the Disciples saw Him, their faith grew dramatically...The got to see Him as being Divine...And even though they seen Him earlier for three years and prior to His death, He over came His own death...He said He would overcome this world and He did...He continues to teach them about His Father and faith...After the forty days His Disciples would walk in faith for the rest of their lives and teach about Him until their deaths...

For two thousand years His words have survived, just like He said...His teachings and lessons continue to this very day and will never pass away...
