Psalm 23:1-6
1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3 he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever.
Matthew 4:1-11
Jesus Tested in the Wilderness
1 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. 3 The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”
4 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
5 Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. 6 “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written:
“‘He will command his angels concerning you,
and they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’”
7 Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’”
8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. 9 “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.”
10 Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’[e]”
11 Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.

Jesus Gives Proof that He is Alive after His Death
1 In my former book, Theophilus, I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach 2 until the day he was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen. 3 After his suffering, he presented himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God. 4 On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. 5 For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.”
The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing when He is with me...He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside still waters, H restores my soul...He guides me along the right paths for His name’s sake...Even though I walk through the valley of death I will fear no evil, for thou art with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me...You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies...You anoint my head with oil; my cup runneth over...Surely Your goodness and Your LOVE will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever...
Life is a journey...A journey can be a meal with friends, a day at work, a drive to a new or old place...A journey can be a walk in a green pasture, beside the beautiful still waters of a creek...Each day, as we journey, we are given a great gift by God to have each day to worship Him and His Son...As we near Easter, we are given a journey that is called Lent...We are to realize that Lent bears some resemblance to Jesus spending forty days fasting in the desert with the Holy Spirit before He started His public ministry with His Disciples...Jesus' life was one of teaching us about God and He gave us an example of how to live a good life with His teachings...He would guide us to Truth and the Way to have an abundant life...And as Jesus journeyed through His life, His last forty days were very much having days of twists and turns...
And after His death He rose and was resurrected by God for another forty days...And He gave His Disciples convincing proof that He was still alive, even after His death...And He appeared to His Disciples over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God...On one occasion, while He was eating with them, He gave them this command: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift My Father promised, which you have heard Me speak about...For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.”...
On the Way to the wilderness He was led by the Holy Spirit...And before He ascended to heaven, He sends us the Holy Spirit...
