Acts 23:6
Paul's belief in the Resurrection
6 I stand on trial because of my hope in the resurrection of the dead.
St. Paul saw Jesus on the Road to Damascus...He believed Jesus had lived, had died, and now was resurrected back to life...This is why St. Paul was on trial...The reason St. Paul was on trial is that Jesus is alive today...St. Paul believed Jesus was alive...The ones who put Jesus on trial now had St. Paul on trial...One group believed in Jesus and that He was resurrected, others did not believe in Him or His resurrection...
Belief in Jesus and in Christianity exists mainly on, if not only on the fact that Jesus was resurrected by God...Christianity is still here today, because when Jesus died He came back three days later alive...He even ate broiled fish with His disciples (Luke 24:42-43) after He died...
Three days after Jesus had died Mary Magdalene, His disciples, and other followers had seen Him...Others seen Jesus after His resurrection in different places and in different circumstances...
Today we have a choice, as St. Paul did two thousand years ago, to believe Jesus was resurrected and is alive or He was not resurrected and is not with us...
Jesus lived the a sin-free life and had the greatest ministry ever for three years....We believe not only because of what He taught us when He was on earth, but because He died...Our hope (like St. Paul's) is because He was resurrected, by our Father...His death was not the end of Him, it was only the beginning...
